Meet Mr. Usuga

 Mr. Usuga was born in Columbia where he played professional soccer for a while. He came to the United  States when he was 15 years old. He attended high school in New Jersey and upon graduation he begun to work so he could help his parents have a better life. Him and his family begun to work on becoming citizens.  

Mr. Usuga begun to be recruited as a soccer player at a local community college. After discussing enrolling there, they agreed on a 2-year scholarship where he could learn to improve his English. 

As his 2-year scholarship came to an end, he went back into the work force in the trucking industry. He started in the warehouse until he was in his early twenties, then began to help on the trucks which learning how to drive a straight truck followed close behind. Mr. Usuga worked there for 5 years and continued to move up positions. His final position was a truck driver supervisor, he would plan logistics, and managed groups of people.

After COVID happened he decided to move to SC in order to improve his life. He was in the city life so now he lives Simpsonville. He attended an orientation at SBL Driving Academy and soon begun on his path to being a professional driver. When asked what lead him here he said, “My main goal was to Focus on my goals from a regular driver to a CDL driver. I want to be able to give my family a good life”. He continued by stating “I am married and have a 13-year-old son. I want to be a good role model for him”. In his free time, he practices/plays a lot of sports. He plays soccer whenever he gets free time and helps mentor kids that are interested in soccer. 

“Totally dedicated to getting through school and always pushing to even higher levels of achievement. He has a plan and has goals, he was/is very determined to reach them”, stated Mr. Bailey. Mr. Davison agreed by stating he is “Very dedicated and driven individual”.
